Rotary Chronograph 1977- GS00450/84

Please note, this page is for reference as the watch is no longer available to purchase from Rotary.

Paying homage to handsome mid-century aesthetics with a new vibrant twist, this Chronograph 1977 honours its racing inspiration with a 3 dial chronograph, displayed on the watch's colourful accented black dial. With a case diameter of 42mm and built with stainless steel, this piece is a robust make that still exudes timeless style. Water resistant to 50m, the watch also has an independent sweep second hand that can be started, stopped and returned to zero. A tachymeter outer dial heightens the practicality and sporty look, pairing well with colour accent matching nylon strap.

Since 1895, British designed heritage watch brand Rotary has crafted accurate, reliable and high quality timepieces that have been cherished from one generation to the next. And has consequently developed a reputation for quality in horology around the world. First originating in Switzerland the brand moved its headquarters to the United Kingdom in 1905 and today the brand stays true to its historic values of craftsmanship and is rightfully proud of 125 years in watchmaking. Over the years Rotary has achieved true horological feats that have been treasured and housed within an archive.

The new Rotary Chronograph 1977 watch family is heavily inspired by Rotary's past links to Formula one racing.
The BRM P207 was a Formula One racing car, designed by Len Terry and manufactured by British Racing Motors, which raced in the 1977 Formula One season. Rotary watches famously sponsored this powerful racing car during its debut and finale year of 1977.

Rotary pays homage to retro formula one racing with its latest collection of chronographs.
Each timepiece carries an undeniable sense of vintage racing car and displays a 3 dial chronograph. Perfect for recording time with great accuracy the quartz chronograph is the ideal watch for the sophisticated sportsman. Rotary's new generation chronograph has an independent sweep second hand: can be started, stopped, and returned to zero, featuring a tachymeter outer dial for rapid calculations of acceleration or distance.
